A facet of World War Two that receives little attention is the German occupation of the Channel Islands. These islands between France and Britain, the largest being Guernsey and Jersey were the only British territory occupied by Nazi Germany. Although the occupation was relatively benign for natives of these islands , its 17 Jews were all deported to concentration camps and/or suffered under the same racial laws as existed in the rest of Nazi occupied Europe. Additionally, Russians and Spanish prisoners of war endured hellish conditions during their imprisonment as slave laborers. By clicking on the title link for this paragraph, you will be taken to a web site that is put up in memory of the victims of the occupation of the Channel Islands
