Concerning Puppies, Angry Muslims and Fleeing Police Officers

(Language advisory on the video of London police fleeing demonstrators at the bottom of this posting)

The picture at the top of this article looks
pretty commonplace . In London, women in hijab are by now a common sight. What makes this picture interesting is that the women are not wearing any ordinary hijab. It is an Islamic version of the London police uniform for women. The London police are trying to up their percentage of officers who are Asian.

Since most of the Asians in Britain are Muslim, efforts are being made to show cultural sensitivity. It is for this reason that a London police uniform with hijab has been designed. One standard by which immigration is judged is how well new immigrants are assimilated into the host country. Reports from Britain about this facet of immigration are not encouraging.

The video with this posting shows a demonstration in London on January 18 The police had the job of keeping the demonstrators on an agreed upon route. The video, which is about ten minutes long shows demonstrators advancing on police, who are shown running from the demonstrators, who are taunting the police and cursing at them. It is very disturbing footage that raises troubling questions.

Were the police ordered to do nothing? Were they given inadequate training to deal with crowd control?

According to Jihad Watch, the problem is beyond the policy of the London city government. From the Prime Minister on down, appeasement is the order of the day. What do you do when you are under attack? Blame Israel. Jihad Watch reports as follows.

"Britain's security and counter-terrorism minister, Lord Alan West, warned Tuesday that the conflict in Gaza has set back the government's attempts to tackle radicalism in Muslim communities here.

"There is no doubt that when you see these pictures coming back, that in the mind of people making hate, there is a linkage between the US, Israel and the UK. Without a doubt it will have set us back," he said.

West also dismissed the refusal by former prime minister Tony Blair to acknowledge the link between foreign policy and security threats.

"We never used to accept that our foreign policy ever had any effect on terrorism. Well, that was clearly bollocks," he said, according to widespread and concurring reports.

"They [the Blair administration] were very unwilling to have any debate about how our foreign policy impacted on radicalisation."

West, a former navy chief brought into government by Prime Minister Gordon Brown, said this view had changed since the new premier took over in June 2007.

Addressing architects in a seminar on ensuring buildings are resilient to terrorism, he said: "The business in Gaza has not helped us at all in our counter-radicalism strategy.

"We have key people in the Muslim community who we are in dialogue with, and they are quick to let us know there is an issue that is causing us a worry.

"They said it [the conflict] was coming over very badly."

The message is clear. Appease the howling mobs by throwing destroying Israel. Does it bring calm to the streets? From the video of the demonstration, it would appear that it does not.

How pitiful are British attempts at appeasement? There is an attempt underway to have police dogs wear rubber booties when they are searching mosques and Muslim homes so as to avoid offending the anti canine sensitivities of Muslims.

And who can forget the story of Rebel, the six week old police dog in training who was the centre piece of an ad campaign for a non emergency phone number in Dundee, Scotland. The Daily Mail reported on this incident as follows.

A postcard featuring a cute puppy sitting in a policeman's hat advertising a Scottish police force's new telephone number has sparked outrage from Muslims.

Tayside Police's new non-emergency phone number has prompted complaints from members of the Islamic community.

The choice of image on the Tayside Police cards - a black dog sitting in a police officer's hat - has now been raised with Chief Constable John Vine.

The advert has upset Muslims because dogs are considered ritually unclean and has sparked such anger that some shopkeepers in Dundee have refused to display the advert.

Dundee councillor Mohammed Asif said: 'My concern was that it's not welcomed by all communities, with the dog on the cards.

'It was probably a waste of resources going to these communities.

'They (the police) should have understood. Since then, the police have explained that it was an oversight on their part, and that if they'd seen it was going to cause upset they wouldn't have done it.'

But have no fear Britain is safe under the watchful eye of "diversity advisors". The story concludes as follows.

A spokesman for Tayside Police said: 'Trainee police dog Rebel has proved extremely popular with children and adults since being introduced to the public, aged six weeks old, as Tayside Police's newest canine recruit.

'His incredible world-wide popularity - he has attracted record visitor numbers to our website - led us to believe Rebel could play a starring role in the promotion of our non-emergency number.

'We did not seek advice from the force's diversity adviser prior to publishing and distributing the postcards. That was an oversight and we apologise for any offence caused.' (emphasis mine)

The nation of Winston Churchill it seems has forgotten the lessons of Neville Chamberlain. Desperately the timid government of Gordon Brown seeks to find a new Sudetenland with which to appease the Islamic fascists of this generation. History has shown us that this does not work.

Britain seems well on its way to being subjects of the religion of perpetual indignation. Whether it is little puppies on post cards or weighty matters of foreign policy there will always be something to which offense can be taken. When will this all stop?

When will we put a stop to it?
